Featherstar let her gaze linger on Blackfog before slowly turning to face the wolf-leader. "They're well hidden, though. Only BlackCl -- BlackPack knows where they are hidden." The FalconClan leader suddenly realized that she must appear like the leader of all of the cats not in BlackClan, and hoped the other clans wouldn't mind.

No!! The wolf believed the medicine cat. Featherstar stepped up , and began to further explain the position of the pups. Blackfog sniffed around, for an ally, for a blackclan cat, for somebody! She caught no ones scent. All the Blackclan warriors were mixed among the other cats. If I attack now, the wolves will fight on Featherstar's side. That, or they'll fight with the medicine cats, but that's every clan except ours. Thoughts like such buzzed in Blackfog's head like angry bees. She tried to strategize a plan, something sneaky, something that would win them victory. But anyway she looked at it the wolves would hunt and kill every Blackclan cat. She couldn't let that happen. But what else am I supposed to do. Quiet as a morning fog, the deputy snuck to the back of the crowd, hoping no one would notice her. Each step back wards was slow and quiet, almost unnoticeable. If anything, Featherstar would be thrilled to have her away. She felt her foot slip on a pebble, and hoped no one heard as the small rock clicked and clacked down a tunnel. She crept to the edge of the tunnel, and slid in the entrance. Blackfog ran toward the scent of kits, stale but still trackable. She had to find Dirtstar, and fast!

As Dirtstar, since I'm too lazy to change accounts:
Dirtstar paced back around the kits' tunnels for the final time, having finished his checkup on the guards and finding everything okay -- a relief especially after that traitor Mountainfrost nearly let the pups out. With a final sweeping look, the BlackClan leader turned and trotted up the tunnels. Time to rip some cat fur. he thought presently, and sped up his pace. He neared the tunnel closest to camp, but a mass of fur came up out of the darkness. Dirtstar skidded to a halt and unsheathed his claws, raising a paw poised to strike. He placed it down again when he recognized Blackfog, and hoped she hadn't thought he was being an idiot almost attacking his own deputy. "What's wrong?" he asked, before grating his teeth when he remembered that normally his reaction would be to yell at whoever had come down into the tunnels in a critical time like this without orders.

Silentstep watched the argument without a word until it became rather loud and she saw it wasn't going to stop without a push. "STOP!!!" The scream of sound reverberated in every creature's mind who had the cognitive power to pick it up for nearly an entire teritorry's area around. "...WolfPack. Cats... smaller... pups." Silentstep's broken telepathy was aimed at the wolves, so the cats couldn't hear it in their minds. "...don't want trouble. We don't... the pups. Don't want fight. BlackPack has pups." Silentstep just hoped it worked and the wolves could hear her too.

~Dewdrop~
Dewdrop stood over the limp body of Flamefur. I know these dogs only wanted their pups, but why did they have to kill this inocent cat? Anger and sadness pulsed through her. Dewdrop had to dig her claws into the ground to stop herself from leaping on one of the hairy beasts herself. They only want the pups... She tryed to convince herself that they were only here for peece, not blood. But the image of her brother being throughn through the air was just to clear. She dropped her head, defeated. I cant see another cat die. Not one more soul to join the stars. Its time for this battle to end.

OOC: The wolves haven't attacked yet, at least I don't think so. They're still listen to Featherstars arguement against Blackclan.
"The wolves of come for their pups." Blackfog meowed urgently. She was afraid Dirstar would be exstatic, he had been planning for the wolves to fight for the past moon. "One claims to know Mothtail, and they plan to fight on her side with the rest of the clans, against us." She waited for Dirstar to respond, but he didn't. He must be caught in thought over what to do. This event had caught the whole clan blind, and they were stuck without a plan. Just a some warriors, no medicine cat, and a couple kits in a hole. What if they were killed? What if all the clans decided they were fed up with blackclan, and let the wolves kill them. Blackfog wasn't as much worried for herself. Blackfog had stopped fearing death a long time ago. But a life withou blackclan, without the wet marshed. Without Dirtstar. The thought of Dirtstar dead snapped the deputy back into reality. No, that wouldn't happen. Dirtstar wouldn't die, he's too strong for that. Of course he'd survive! Blackfog told herself, though she didn't believe it. She swiveled her ears when Dirtstar broke her thoughts and said:

"Please!" Silentstep continued once she had realized she'd been ignored "We get pups back if ... no fight."

[The wolves killed Flamefur because once they entered camp, he attacked them. But that was it.] Dirtstar closed his eyes to think. Foxdung, I hadn't counted on the wolves knowing some idiot medicine cat. How would that happen, anyways?! After another moment of silence, BlackClan's leader spoke. "Does it look like a definite loss if we continue to fight? Are the wolves completely won over to their side?" Blackfog nodded; Dirtstar clamped his jaws in anger. If it weren't for Mothtail, victory would've been ours. I'll get her someday. "Well then... you go back, call a retreat, lead them to these tunnels and tell the wolves that you're leading them to their pups. They'll smell the scent so they won't think you're lying. Meanwhile, I'll get the guards down here to carry them away." [OOC: How about as Blackfog returns with the wolves and other clan cats, Dirtstar is returning for the last kit [he moved the pups first]. The clan cats are outraged, and pin Blackfog down since she's leading them and she's within reach. Dirtstar sees it, and he gives up the kit he's carrying in return for Blackfog. The kit tells the clans where all of the others are being hidden right away, and the cats and wolves get to the spot before Dirtstar can relocate again, battle ended and BlackClan loses. ]

OOC: Okay, I just got a little confused there. ;D Blackfog felt like she should say something to Dirtstar, but all she could manage was: "Okay." The deputy ran out the exit of the tunnels. As she came up into the fresh air of Blackclan territory, she heard the confused barks and meows of the cats and wolves trying to communicate. She ran up to the farther part of the crowd. She took a deep breath. The black-cat hated surrendering. But if it was what the leader wanted... "Retreat!" Blackfog called. The Blackclan cats began running back to camp. Some hesitated, unsure if they could retreat at Blackfog's call, not Dirtstar's, but they did anyway. The other clans began to call out victory. "Run back to you holes, Mousedung!" One cat yowled. "That's what you get, kit-stealers!" Another snarled. A low growl stopped the cheers. The wolves were not so pleased with Blackclans retreat. They wanted to rip Blackclan apart. They wanted to chase after them until they got back their pups and their pride. "Wait!" Blackfog meowed, walking up to the stink of the wolves. "I'll show you where your pups are. You deserve to get them back." She hoped she sounded incere. Many of the wolves were barking things like:"Pups... we came for..." "Never find... ourselves..." She heard a low growl, and turned to the scent that must be Featherstar. Blackfog felt that Featherstar must not believe her. But what was she to do? Tell the wolves not to collect their pups. "We'll come with you." Featherstar meowed to the wolves. "We need our kits back too." The alpha wolf nodded in agreement. "Here, it's down this tunnel." Blackfog meowed, showing the group down into the tunnels. Perfect, everything was going as planned.

Featherstar frowned. This seems like some kind of trick. Sure, Blackfog looked depressed and defeated, not wanting to give up the kits and pups, but she knew BlackClan a little too well for that. I could be just over-reacting. Would they dare lead us and run away in the tunnels like they did before? "Wait!" Featherstar called. She would make sure it didn't happen. They had a big group, all four clans and the wolves. Her plan would probably work. "We'll form a kind of chain. Someone can stand here, in view of the entrance, and as we go we'll position one cat or wolf within calling distance of the previous one." She shot a suspicious glance at Blackfog, unsure if the deputy's sightless eyes could catch it. "Just in case."
Featherstar followed Blackfog down, letting Brightfire take over in directing the placement of the wolves and cats. The canines seemed unsure of whether or not to obey a cat's orders, but their leader and deputy, Featherstar assumed, told them to follow. They continued farther down, and Featherstar had to use her whiskers to feel for the sides of the tunnels as it got darker and darker. Finally, after her eyes had adjusted to the blackness, a few wisps of kit and pup-scent drifted towards them. The wolves let out excited whimpers, and Featherstar even felt her own heart lift. This is it. This battle is over. Suddenly, a flash of movement came from ahead of them. The FalconClan leader tensed, unsure of who noticed it. Not Blackfog, she couldn't see. But a glance from beside her told the calico she-cat that Foxshadow had seen it too. Someone, a BlackClan cat, had just disappeared into a branching tunnel. Featherstar eyed the opening. Another flicker, and she let out a hiss of surprise as Dirtstar lept out with a kit in his mouth, making for the other side of the tunnel. Featherstar had to think fast. They were moving the kits away! But Foxshadow was faster. He leaped on Blackfog with a screech, yowling, "Dirtstar, you mangy piece of crowfood! Come back and give us the kits if you ever want to see your deputy open her eyes again!"
----
Dirtstar plunged back into the tunnels, his heart racing. Last one, last one. Just get that kit out, and we're all set. He reached the right spot, diving into the smaller tunnel and grasping the final kit by its scruff. He bunched his muscles to jump out, but then he heard the scuffling sounds of a group of cats travelling in the tunnels. FOXDUNG he yowled inwardly. They're too fast! Bracing himself, he knew he couldn't be cornered in this kit-smelling tunnel. He burst out as quietly as he could, racing for the opposite end of the tunnels, away from the wolves and other clan cats. I'll go around and loop through some traps and double back, they won't be able to follow me. he thought rapidly. But a yowl from behind brought him skidding to a stop. "...if you ever want to see your deputy open her eyes again!" Dirtstar whirled around, pelting back to be confronted with a scene of Blackfog and Foxshadow rolling around screeching on the floor, and Featherstar as well as a few other cats watching them and trying to find a way to jump in and help without injuring the fighting tom. "STOP!" Dirtstar screeched. "Stop, if you want to see this kit ever open its eyes again!" he shifted his grip, gently grasping the kit's throat instead of it's scruff. It mewled helplessly in his powerful jaws.

(I'm way too lazy to change accounts right now so I'm gonna post as Echostream here)
~Echostream~ The white wolf had followed the cats anxiously, willing to do anything to get her daughters back. She had to crouch to fit in the tunnels but she didn't care. She could feel that Silentsong, Robinfur and Moonflower were close, she just knew they were. She let out a growl as one of the cats leaped at another. The two rolled around and the cat who had stole her daughters came into view holding a small cat in his jaws,[/color] "...see.... kit... open eyes... again." The white wolf wasn't going to let that happen. She wasn't going to let him kill anyone, especially a young defenseless kit. She moved forward as quickly as she could in the small cramped tunnel, her head hitting the ceiling and she stood over the male cat her black eyes glinting with hints of ice blue.
The mother wolf towered over him and spoke slowly and clearly so he, and everyone else would hear her, "Put the kit down. Or I will kill you before you have time to take another breath." She knew that he was a strong fighter and he would be able to maneuver in the tunnels but she was a small wolf and was very very fast. She could kill him in an instant if she wanted to, and if he tried to hurt that cat she would like nothing better than tearing him apart.

Dirtstar:
"I will gladly give you this kit." Dirtstar meowed through the soft tabby fur. "But you must free my deputy in return. Don't try to leap on me; I'll crush it if you do - and anyways, I have all nine of my lives left. You'll have to kill me nine times and by that time, this kit will be dead along with your pups. But free her -" Dirtstar waved with his tail towards his deputy, "And no one will be hurt." Hurry up, before those pieces of foxdung seriously hurt Blackfog! he thought to himself. The BlackClan leader glanced up at the she-wolf with a dangerously glittering eye, waiting expectantly.

Echostream glared down at the leader a growl escaped her throat as the kit wailed. "I don't make deals with worthless pieces of dung like you." She growled, still speaking slowly so he would understand her. "I kill them. Now put the kit down before I tear your head off, or maybe I'll tear her's off." She flicked her white tail towards the black cat that was obviously his deputy. "And kill you nine times, I would, and love every second of it. You greatly underestimate the power that lies in a wolf." Her black eyes burned, "Now put the kit down."
